How To Create a Watercolor-Themed Website Design with Photoshop – Screencast Tutorial

Tutorial Photoshop

Watercolor in graphic design has become very trendy the last couple of years, many websites and incredible designers are using this style and taking it to another level. Even knowing the technique is important in this kind of design, is more about creativity and experimentation.

tutorial : How to start with the cinema 4d modeling

Welcome to the first tutorial in our “the basics” series. This series of tutorials is designed to teach you the extreme basics of Cinema 4D and is a great way to learn Cinema 4D for everyone that has never used Cinema 4D before.
In this tutorial we will cover the Cinema 4D interface, we will go through all basic menu’s and button explaining what they are and how to use them.
Lets start by opening Cinema 4D, depending on the version of C4D you are using the interface should look something like this:

As you can see I have devided the Cinema 4D (or C4D) screen into different sections, I will now explain what these sections are.

1 – The Cinema 4D File menu

Almost all functions and things you can do with Cinema 4D can be access from these menus. However, there are many useful shortcuts that will save more time than using these menus.

2 – The Shortcut Buttons.

These buttons will help you access the things you will often use in Cinema 4D quickly, without having to go through the huge amount of menus in the upper menu.

1. Undo
   2. Redo
   3. Live Selection Tool
   4. Move Tool, move your object around
   5. Scale Tool, used to scale the selected object in x, y and z direction
   6. Rotate Tool
   7. Restrict to X Axis
   8. Restrict to y Axis
   9. Restrict to z Axis
  10. Use World/Object coordinate system
  11. Render Active View, this quickly renders your scene so you can check how it looks
  12. Render in Picture Viewer
  13. Open Render Settings
  14. Add a Cube object (Hold down to get a drop down menu where you can select more primitives)
  15. Spline Drawing Tool (Hold downto get a drop down menu where you can select more Splines)
  16. Add a HyperNURBS object (Hold down to get a drop down menu where you can select more NURBS)
  17. Add an Array Object (Hold down to get a drop down menu where you can select more object holders)
  18. Add a Light Object (Hold down to get a drop down menu where you can select more light objects)
  19. Add a Bend Deformation (Hold down to get a drop down menu where you can select more Deformations)
  20. Add an emitter Object (Hold down to get a drop down menu where you can select more emitters)
  21. Selection Filter
  22. Filter, hide and unhide things from view
  23. Object browser, allows you to quickly load materials / previous projects

You will learn more about these tools as we go on. For now, just make sure you know the names of each of them.

You can also access all of these options from the Cinema 4D File Menu (1), however, these buttons are often faster.

3 – Edit and Selection

1.  Click to convert back to the default layout, or hold to load alternate layouts.
2. Make the current object editable so it can be altered, you can also press “c” on your keyboard
3. Enable Model Tool, you will now be able to move both your objects and the axis in your current view
4. Enable Object Axis Tool, you can now only move your axis around, your objects will stay at there current location.
5. Point Tool, allows you to select the different points on a object, so you can edit them.
6. Edge Tool, allows you to select the different edges on a object, so you can edit them.
7. Polygon Tool, allows you to select the different polygons on a object, so you can edit them.
8. Mode Tool, changes modes, hold to select different modes. For example in Auto Switch mode C4D will switch between point, edge and polygon tools automatically.
9. Texture Tool
10. Texture Axis Tool
11. Object Tool

4 – View controls

These Control the current view. They are as follows:
   1. Move: hold this and move the mouse to move up/down or strafe left/right.
   2. Zoom: Hold the zoom button and move your mouse to zoom in or out of selected object, you can also use your mouse scrollbar for this
   3. Rotate: Hold and rotate your mouse to move around the selected object
   4. Window: Click this to switch from 1 view mode (for example the (x,y) plane), to the 4 way view, showing all 2d planes and the general 3d view.

You might have an hard time moving around your objects at first, but once you got these under control you will love it and use it often. Practice, practice practice!

5 – Object Manager

In the Object Manager everything in your current scene will be listed, for example objects, lights and floors.
With the object manager you can delete, nest, modify, select and do almost anything with your objects. By dragging a material onto your objects the material will be added here, so you can edit and delete it when needed.

6 – Attribute Manager

From here you can change the different attributes of your selected object.
For example when you have selected a cube, here you can change the size, name and much more.
Which attributes are available here depends strongly on the selected items.
As you can see on your left I have selected a Light Object, in the attribute manager you can change the light settings, such as do you want shadows, how strong should the light be, what color etc.
You can use the tabs on top to flip between different pages with options, don’t feel scared, you will probably never used most of them!

7 – Animation Manger

From here you can manage your animations, we won’t go into detail about this here.

8 – Material Manager

In the Material Manager you can open or create materials and shaders. All the materials you have loaded into your current project are listed here, double click on one to edit it.
You can apply the materials listed here onto your objects by dragging them onto the object inside the object viewer or the object manager.

9 – Coordinate Manager

The Coordinate manager allows you to precisely place, modify and rotate your objects. For example you want to move the center of your object to the coordinates (x=100, y=-100, z=400), you can do this in the coordinate manager!
Thats all for now, I hope you now understand the layout of Cinema 4D better, when you are just starting you will get lost looking for options many times, but don’t worry you can always go back to this tutorial to see where you can find certain tools.
My advice is to just play around with Cinema 4D, check out every option yourself to see how they work and where you can use them for, thats in my opinion the best way to quickly learn C4D.
And don’t be discouraged, you will probably never use most of the functions that Cinema 4D has anyway!

Cross PC U510 5" TFT 2GB RAM HDTV Nvidia

Cross PC U510

You can tell by its name alone, the Great Wall Cross PC U510, which country the device hails from. The full size keyboard itself envelopes an NVIDIA Ion chipset, 2GB RAM, a 250GB SATA hard drive and a 5" TFT touchscreen display that has been embedded on the surface. Along with the aforementioned comes Wi-Fi connectivity, handwriting recognition capability and 3D graphics support. You won't find any internal battery running this thing since it relies on external power, and you will require to hook this up to a standard display, HDTV or projector in order to work with it. Pity it doesn't do dual displays, as that would definitely be a boon in this day and age of multi-tasking. At around $570 each, we're thinknig whether a netbook would be a better toss up.

The laptop Asus Eee PC 1005PE review

Asus has been pumping out netbooks for longer than anyone. And in a lot of ways, the Asus Eee PC 1005PE is just an incremental update over previous models. The laptop still has a 10 inch screen, chiclet-style keyboard and Intel Atom processor. But as the first Eee PC with an Atom N450 Pine Trail CPU, the Eee PC 1005PE represents the biggest change in the Eee PC line since the jump from 7 inch screens to 9 and 10 inch models in 2008.
Fortunately, Asus got a lot of things right in the latest update. The laptop is thin and light, and while it gets stellar battery life, the battery doesn’t jut too far out from the bottom of the laptop. The keyboard is very easy to use, and the textured touchpad supports multitouch gestures.
As for the new processor, it’s a mixed bag. It doesn’t offer much of a performance boost, and the PC actually feels like it might be slower at some tasks than one with an Atom N270 or N280 processor. But Intel’s goal wasn’t so much to boost performance with the new CPU, but to improve power consumption. And the Asus Eee PC 1005PE gets the kind of battery life that will let you use your laptop on a cross-country trip from New York to LA… twice.
The demo unit Asus sent me to review came equipped with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, and Windows 7 Starter Edition. It has a 6 cell, 5800mAh, 63Whr battery. You can pick one up for under $370 from Amazon.
Design
The Asus Eee PC 1005PE measures 10.2″ x 6.9″ x 1.4″ and weighs about 2.8 pounds. It’s almost exactly the same size and shape as its predecessor, the Eee PC 1005HA. The primary physical difference is that the new model has an updated chiclet-style keyboard with more space between the keys.

Performance
The Asus Eee PC 1005PE is the first laptop I’ve tested that has Intel’s new Atom N450 Pine Trail processor and GMA 3150 graphics. In a nutshell, the performance is almost exactly what you would expect from a netbook with an Atom N270 or N280 processor and GMA 950 graphics. In other words, the Eee PC 1005PE isn’t significantly faster than any other netbook that’s been released over the past year or two.
What is different is that Intel has combined the graphics, memory, and CPU functions onto a single chip. And that helps reduce energy consumption and increase battery life — without sacrificing performance.
I ran my standard raft of benchmarks, and found that while the Asus Eee PC 1005PE outperforms an Atom N280-based system in some respects, it’s a tiny bit slower in others. Basically, I’d say things are about a wash.
The chart below shows compares the results for this notebook with those for an Asus Eee PC 1008HA, a similar netbook with an Atom N280 CPU, GMA 950 graphics, and Windows 7 Starter Edition.

The tests involve transcoding a 4:34 video using VirtualDub, a 13:24 audio clip using WinLAME, and copying and zipping the contents of a 478MB folder containing 2186 files.
I’ve also added a few new tests to my routine, including timing how long it takes to open two of the slowest-loading program I use on a regular basis: GIMP and OpenOffice.org. Unfortunately I never got around to running this test on the Asus Eee PC 1008HA, but I did grab a stopwatch and time the HP Mini 311, which features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU. Here’s how the Asus Eee PC 1005PE stacks up against that notebook.

The Asus netbook sort of wiped the floor with the HP model here, but it’s probably worth pointing out that I found the Mini 311 to be overall pretty sluggish for an Atom powered netbook, possibly due to its high resolution display. Of course, the HP Mini 311 also has NVIDIA ION graphics, which give it a huge performance boost when it comes to playing HD video, 3D video games, or performing other tasks that take advantage of NVIDIA’s CUDA technology.
The netbook was able to handle smooth playback of a 720p HD video I grabbed from the Windows Media HD Showcase, although CPU usage was stuck at around 90% or higher throughout the clip. 1080p HD video was another story. While the sample video started playing smoothly, after a few seconds the audio and video were out of sync, and about 10 seconds into the clip the movie turned into a slideshow.
HD Flash video is out of the question, since there’s no Adobe Flash acceleration for the integrated GMA 3150 graphics. But standard definition Flash videos looked good in both windowed and full screen modes.
Overall, the netbook has plenty of power to handle day to day tasks such as surfing the web or editing documents. But you shouldn’t expect miracles. It’s not going to play Call of Duty 4. The PC also felt a bit sluggish with some Javascript-heavy pages such as Google Reader.
Battery
Asus describes the 63Whr battery that comes with this version of the Asus Eee PC 1005PE as a “14 hour” battery. It’s not. But it’s easily a 10+ hour battery.
In fact, I’ve had a pretty difficult time getting this battery to die. Rather than run specific, unrealistic battery benchmarks, I’ve taken to turning on a netbook at the start of a work day, using it for web surfing, some light viewing of online videos, and other tasks throughout the day until the battery dies. This one just doesn’t.

After using the laptop for about 7 hours one day, Windows reported that it had about 3 hours left to go.
Asus also loads up the Eee PC 1005PE with its Super Hybrid Engine utility which lets you adjust the processor clock speed. If you need a bit of a performance boost, you can use the High Performance or Super Performance modes, which run the Atom N450 processor at full speed or at a slightly overclocked speed. If you want to squeeze even more battery life out of the computer, you can switch to Power Saving mode, which underclocks the CPU. You’ll take a bit of a performance hit, but as long as you’re not watching video, you probably won’t notice much difference.

Youtube start rent films like NetFlix

Youtube site started by following the method of renting movies, such as service NetFlix, months in the United States of America movie rental since 1996, which started with the option of leasing and seen directly through the Internet since 2007.

Unlike the site "Hulu Hulu" which allows you to watch a number of serials for free to gain from the built-in advertisements, are under the "Youtube" and NetFlix rental movie on the way and be available to watch high-definition displays, HD Once you pay through your credit card, for a certain period may be 24 hours, or weeks, or months.

In the picture above, you can see the window that appeared to me asking me to pay using my credit card, and will then view the film directly to me, and for 24 hours.

For Youtube, the matter is still in its infancy trial period expires at the end of January instant, and the number five films only. But it is expected that this is just the processing to run a more prominent and visible the movie rental service through the site, the desire to compete with similar services, especially if we know for example that NetFlix had made a profit estimated at $ 49 million by the end of 2006, and 66 million by the end of 2007 , and 83 million by the end of 2008. This means that the annual increase rate of approximately 22%
